What is a vanguards experience? Vanguards according to our definition are explorers who discover a country off the beaten track, tracing its essence behind the commercial facades. Vanguards are people who are leaving their comfort zones to gain new life experiences. Be it a short vacation, a social event or a long term volunteer program we facilitate original, authentic experiences that will last: Take a boat through Thailand’s remote coastal communities, exchange with fishermen and stop to plant mangrove trees among rare swimming monkeys to conserve natural habitats. Spend a day in Bangkok’s squatter communities while listening to people’s life stories and cook with them. Explore Bangkok’s first urban neighborhoods, hidden alleys no tourist usually gets to see whilst helping to raise awareness in order to preserve ancient communities.

Who are we? It all started with three Thailand enthusiasts with Thai-German roots desperate to share their Thailand fever. Our aim is to connect tourists, volunteers and locals to Thailand’s hidden jewels, its people and its changemakers that help to sustain culture, lives and the environment. With our background as journalists, bloggers, tourism lecturers, film makers and cyclists we take our ideas online and with the support of hundreds of like-minded socially conscious friends we’ve been able to realize dynamic and creative campaigns ranging from small projects to large scale disaster relief efforts.
