The Chinatown Unplugged was born out of an event named Bye Bye Chinatown, a street photography exhibition which documented the disappearance of heritage buildings and communities due to rapid urban development. To help raise awareness we teamed up with the team of Bye Bye Chinatown and designed a walking tour that takes you deeper into the areas and communities that are trying to preserving their roots while also embracing the future. This tour is not designed with main-tourist sights in mind but rather to understand the roots, the present condition and future outlook and aspirations of one of Bangkok’s last authentic neighborhoods.
