We bring together youth leaders with communities, local schools, monks, local government, private sector and international organizations to find ways to tackle plastic pollution
To raise awareness around the impact of nondegradable waste and ignite affirmative action by various stakeholders
To see Thailand's environment free from non-degradable waste
Due to rising threats to our oceans through non-degradable waste the U.N. has made it one of its sustainable development goals to reduce non-degradable waste.
Rebels Against Plastics aims to create awareness among citizens with a focus on youth in Samut Songkhram, Thailand’s smallest province 65km west of Bangkok. Samut Songkhram features the most intricate canal system in Thailand and boasts a lush and highly fertile environment making it the fruit basket of Thailand. Pollution has become a major threat to the environment. Rebels Against Plastics aims to bring together community leaders, monks, local government, schools, non-profit organizations and private sector to develop a long term strategy and initiatives to tackle one of the most the prevalent negative impacts of modern civilization.
The program comprises of workshops, community based needs analysis on the ground, hands on clean up action with local students and local travel to shine international light on local communities as an incentives to tackle the mounting waste problem. We encourage the youth to come up with proposals for the local government and communities whilst exploring ways to tap resources in order to achieve stated goals. This program is work in progress and we’re constantly working hard with the input of our participants to tackle one of the most urgent and complex problems facing Thailand’s environment.
