We visit remote temple schools along the Maeklong river to organize an memorable day for local children and provide opportunities to engage in English language.
To reach out to underfunded schools and address their needs of engaging foreign visitors and to provide unique insights into rural community life and culture
To create connections between local schools and international organizations and tourism to empower youth in rural areas
Amphawa Igniters is a culturally immersive community engagement program in Samut Songkhram’s remote temple schools located along the sidearms of the Maeklong River. This program is designed to learn more about rural communities, temples and schools as well as the traditional life by the water. The aim is to create a fun and memorable day for children at the temple schools as well as raising funds to better equip schools or to support through other means. Travel by boat through one of the most scenic river landscapes, join a ceremony with monks and have lunch at the temple. This program is recommended as a two day program with a relaxation program afterward with a dining cruise or a lecturer, reflective session by the canal or in a traditional Thai home. We will provide for local and beautiful accommodation, logistics, event equipment and organization and will take of any needs your group might have to truly experience Thailand’s smallest province from a very different perspective.
